Building Japan’s First Islamic Youth Center: Shaping the Future of Islam in Japan

In 2019, Japan had approximately 230,000 Muslims, a significant rise from 100,000 in 2009, marking an astonishing 130% increase!

In Japan Faith Survives In Silence 😔

Being a Muslim in Japan often means living in isolation, with very few people who share or understand your faith.

Young Muslims and reverts face their journey alone, especially with busy parents, making them vulnerable to negative influences.

In a society where religion is not central, maintaining Islamic identity becomes a lonely and difficult struggle.

They need a place to grow, to learn, to feel safe. Without it, their iman fades in silence.

They Just Need One Safe Space

MyFundAction is working closely with Haji Sugimoto, a passionate da’i who has been actively spreading the message of Islam across Japan.

We are committed to guiding reverts and local non-Muslims to truly understand the beauty of Islam. But without a proper space to come together, everything becomes harder.

They have no place to ask questions, to feel safe or to grow with others who share the same journey.

That’s why an Islamic Youth Centre in Japan is something they truly need. It’s not just a building , it’s a home where they can learn, stay strong in their faith and remind each other that they’re not alone.

One Dream, One Ummah, One Place to Belong

That is why we are establishing MYDC Japan in Tokyo, to become a lifeline for those silently struggling to hold on to their faith. Many young Muslims and reverts in Japan are trying their best to stay connected to Islam.

We chose Tokyo because it is home to the largest Muslim population in Japan. Yet even in this busy and modern city, there is a deep lack of safe, welcoming spaces for Muslims to grow spiritually. These youth need more than just information — they need a place where they feel seen, heard and loved for who they are.
